CMN in the Community

Giving back to the community

In 2011, CMN started its journey with the opening of its first Montessori Nursery in Ealing Green in the heart of the London Borough of Ealing. Our second branch was opened after a few years, just a few miles away. We feel very fortunate to have been presented with the opportunity to help serve the local families of Ealing by providing exemplary childcare for their babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. In return we have made cherished, long-lasting relationships with them.

We believe in giving back to our local Ealing community and hope to return the trust and love they have bestowed on us for over a decade. We trust that small steps have the power of making big changes! As it is well said in Chinese proverb, “A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step.”

CMN is determined and committed to support local charities. We believe that to give back to the community teaches us to find compassion within ourselves and to stay attached to our values that are linked to the common good. We thank you all for your support in this endeavour!

Credit goes to our CMN families who have joined hands with the nursery in organising various fund-raising events throughout the year, ranging from Cake sales to the Christmas raffle; from Easter Sponsor Hops to Dressing up and slumber Pyjama Parties. Our enthusiastic Parent Group helps to decide the local charity we support each year.

Ealing Green Montessori has been supporting and raising funds for local charities every year. Our nominated charity has been Walpole Friends (http://www.walpolefriends.org/) (Registered Charity Number: 1152434) for the last two years. This is an Ealing-based friends group, supporting Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery as well as Walpole and Lammas Parks.

Walpole Friends was inaugurated in 2009 with the aim of giving users of Pitzhanger Manor, and its immediate parks, a focus for working with Ealing Council and to help provide a coherent voice for influencing how these historic facilities can be used best and enhance its role within the Borough.

Excursions to Walpole Park and Lammas Park have been frequent and amongst the favourite visits for our Ealing Green Montessori Children. Besides using the park facilities, our children have also been privileged enough to enjoy the Rickyard learning Centre and Beehive observatory. Additionally, Lammas Park has been hosting Weekly Forest School Sessions for our pre-schoolers.

Likewise, our West Ealing branch has been supporting local charities since its inception in 2015. We initially raised funds for P.E.S.T.S; a play and support group for children with special needs and their parents. From 2017 to 2018 we supported Home-Start Ealing, a charity aimed at helping families who have young children and are experiencing stress or difficulties such as poverty, disability, domestic abuse and/or bereavement. For the last couple of years our nominated charity has been Log Cabin, a foundation that provides a setting where children and young people with additional needs or disabilities can socialise, grow and have fun alongside their mainstream peers.
